DocVault is engineered by Eklanth Solutions LLP under a zero-cloud, local-first paradigm. All computer vision scanning, document classification, OCR extraction, biometric verification, and file storage take place 100% locally on your Android device hardware. No scanned documents, identity numbers, or medical records ever leave your phone.
01 Information Handling & On-Device OCR
DocVault handles highly sensitive personal data exclusively on your local hardware:
- Document Images & Scans: Images captured with the camera or imported from local storage are stored in your application's private, encrypted directory. They are never transmitted over the internet.
- On-Device OCR & Text Extraction: Character recognition runs locally via embedded Google ML Kit vision models and Sauvola adaptive binarization algorithms. No document images or recognized text strings are sent to external servers.
- Aadhaar & National Identity Data: Identity details (Aadhaar numbers, PAN, license numbers) are parsed locally. Built-in redaction tools allow users to mask the first 8 digits of Aadhaar numbers locally before sharing.
- Zero Account Registration: DocVault does not require login, registration, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords to operate.
02 Device Permissions & Technical Justification
The application requests only necessary permissions strictly required to perform scanning, biometric locking, and emergency card display:
Used strictly to capture live photos of physical documents and scan UIDAI Secure QR codes. Camera frames are processed strictly in RAM and never streamed.
Invokes the standard Android BiometricPrompt for fingerprint or face authentication. Your biometric templates remain safely inside your device's Secure Enclave and are never accessed by the app.
Allows emergency first responders to view designated ICE (In Case of Emergency) blood group and emergency contact info from the lockscreen without exposing any private documents in your vault.
Triggers precise local notifications for document expiration dates (e.g. driving license renewal, vehicle insurance, product warranties).
03 Zero Telemetry, Zero Analytics & Zero Ads
DocVault contains no advertising SDKs, no behavioral tracking code, and no third-party analytics libraries. We do not integrate Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, Google AdMob, or commercial user-fingerprinting trackers.
04 Hardware-Backed Cryptography
DocVault uses Android KeyStore to generate and manage symmetric AES-256 GCM encryption keys inside the device's hardware-isolated Secure Element (TEE / StrongBox). If your device is lost or stolen while locked, the raw files cannot be extracted or decrypted without your biometric or system lock credential.
05 Children's Privacy Protection
DocVault does not collect data from any user, including children under 13. Families may store children's health vaccination records locally within family profiles; this data remains strictly on the parent's physical phone.
